- Contact Information: Email address, phone number (including WhatsApp), and billing address.
- Booking Preferences: Details regarding your yacht preferences, dietary restrictions, special occasions, and scheduled charter dates.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited on our website, and times of visits.
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies, web beacons, and tracking pixels to analyze website traffic, customize your user experience, and deliver targeted advertising.
C. Payment Information (Processed by Third Parties)
To book a vessel, you must provide payment card information. Be Fun Sailing does not store, process, or transmit raw credit card or financial data on its servers. All payments are securely processed by our third-party, PCI-DSS-compliant payment processors, such as Stripe or PayPal. These processors provide us only with basic transaction details (e.g., transaction ID, last 4 digits of the card, and billing zip code).
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:
- To Fulfill Bookings: Processing your reservation, coordinating with Vessel Operators, and preparing marine manifests for local Port Authorities.
- Communication: Sending booking confirmations, invoice updates, safety protocols, and responding to customer service inquiries via email or WhatsApp.
- Marketing (With Opt-Out):Sending promotional offers, newsletter updates, and seasonal discounts. You can opt-out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in our emails.
- Security and Fraud Prevention: Verifying identity to prevent unauthorized transactions, credit card fraud, and chargebacks.
- Legal Compliance: Complying with local maritime regulations, tax laws, and requests from authorized law enforcement or port authorities in Mexico.
3. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE OF DATA
We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Your information is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Vessel Operators and Crew: We share passenger names, nationalities, and specific booking requirements with the local yacht owner/operator and captain to execute your charter safety manifest.
- Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting (Supabase/AWS), CRM tools, and payment gateways (Stripe/PayPal).
- Legal and Regulatory Authorities: We will disclose information if required to do so by Mexican Federal Law, court orders, or Port Authority mandates, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, physical safety, or property.
4. DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY
- Retention: We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal/tax requirements, or resolve disputes.
- Security Measures: We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
